Please keep safety in mind and have your brakes checked at least annually. Maintaining the brakes in your vehicle is one of the most important things you can do to help against dangerous driving mishaps on the road. If you notice any of the following please set up an appointment at your local Tandem Tire location.
The brake pedal requires more pressure or goes down further than it used to.
You hear a scraping or grinding noise even when not using the brakes.
You notice a shaking or vibration during braking.
You hear a whistle or squeaking noise when using the brakes.
Ways to help maintain serviceable brakes:
Schedule annual brake inspections. Delaying the inspection after noticing one of the items above will only lead to a more costly repair.
Never drive with the emergency brake on.
It’s easy to ask to have your brakes inspected when you have your tires rotated since the wheels will be off anyway. Just make a note to ask when they’re rotated.
